The EIA CABs are extremely useful and reasonably up-to-date; note that this one was last updated in October 2002. Note also that it gives not just energy-specific information, such as the extent of French and Russian contracts in Iraq, but also general information on economic conditions in the country. For Iraq, those are very depressing, as referenced by Tony Blair in this this outstanding speech given in Glasgow yesterday (with many thanks to Andrew Sullivan for the link.
