The hybrid Toyota Prius has been named the 2004 North America Car of the Year.
“If you want to understand the future of automotive design and production, then you have to understand the Toyota Prius,” Motor Trend said.

Bah! The Prius us impressive until you figure out that Toyota is losing money on every one that they sell. If the real cost of a Prius is $30K, not $20k, it starts to look a hell of a lot less impressive. The ROI on the gas savings vs. the increased cost of all the technology is not very good.
