So it looks like Stephen Bainbridge and I crossed in the air over Colorado somewhere. Two things:
1. Honey, why ya still flying United?
2. He says he couldn’t live here because he’d miss the LA sun. Every time I spend a weekend in LA I am glad to get home to Chicago. In addition to being saturated in SPF45 all weekend, I can’t get around the “cult of the body” culture.
De gustibus non disputandum est.
Please just promise to keep flying over the flyover states.
Those of us that gave up the big city – in part because of the internet – like it that way.
Whataya kidding? Chicago has like 300 days a year of sun, or something.
We have just enough cloudy days in Chicago to keep us grounded in reality. Californians are all nuts because the weather is so good that they never have to postpone their plans due to the weather. It is a big factor in their self indulgence and plain nuttiness.
Lynne, I’m a former Northwestern student and now living in San Diego. Believe me, the place grows on you. When I showed up 20 lb lighter and tanner at Christmas and everyone else was 20 lb heavier and paler is when I realized this. It was unintentional.
